Michelle Solitro, MS, LMFT

Michelle Solitro is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples.  She has over 9 years of experience working in schools and a community mental health agency providing home-based, outpatient, and day treatment therapy.  Michelle uses a combination of different treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Narrative Therapy.  She incorporates play and art as a therapeutic tool as well.

Her specialties include the treatment of anxiety and panic attacks, depression, self-injurious behavior, obsessive-compulsive disorder, attention and behavioral problems, post-traumatic stress disorder, parenting skills, trauma, anger management, and relationship difficulties.  Michelle has her Masters of Science degree from The University of Rhode Island, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family and Child Studies from Montclair State University.

Additionally, Michelle serves on the executive board of The Rhode Island Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (RIAMFT) as Treasurer.
